Welcome to Jpool (Journey Pool). These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access and use of the Jpool mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”).
By using Jpool, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform.

1. About Jpool

Jpool is a ride-sharing platform created for estate communities in Lagos. The Platform connects riders and verified passengers for shared transportation within and outside supported estates.

Jpool is not a transportation company. We provide a technology platform that enables ride matching, payments, and communication between users.

2. Eligibility

To use Jpool, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old

  • Be a resident of a participating estate or a verified rider

  • Create an account with accurate and truthful information

  • Agree to comply with estate rules and Nigerian laws

Jpool may request proof of residency or identification to confirm eligibility.

3. Account Registration

When creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide valid personal information

  • Keep your login credentials secure

  • Not share your account with others

  • Update your details when necessary

Jpool may suspend or terminate accounts that contain false or misleading information.

4. How the Platform Works

Jpool provides tools that allow users to:

  • Request or offer rides within supported locations

  • Connect with verified riders

  • Reserve seats for scheduled rides

  • Make secure in-app payments

  • Communicate with riders via in-app chat

  • Access safety features such as trip tracking and SOS

Ride availability depends on rider availability, location, and timing.

5. User Responsibilities
Passengers Must:

  • Be ready at the agreed pickup time

  • Treat riders respectfully

  • Follow safety instructions

  • Respect estate rules and traffic laws

Riders Must:

  • Complete all verification steps

  • Maintain a safe, roadworthy vehicle

  • Follow traffic laws and safe-driving standards

  • Treat passengers respectfully

  • Accept only rides booked through the Platform

Jpool may disable accounts involved in abusive, unsafe, or fraudulent behavior.

6. Payments

All ride payments are processed through Jpool’s in-app payment system.

By using the Platform, you agree that:

  • Prices may vary based on route, distance, and availability

  • Payments are non-refundable except in specific cases approved by Jpool

  • Cash payments are not permitted unless explicitly allowed by Jpool

  • Payment disputes should be reported to support immediately

Jpool may adjust trip prices to correct errors or fraud.

7. Cancellations

Users may cancel rides before the rider arrives.
Riders may also cancel trips due to safety concerns, no-show, or technical issues.

Frequent cancellations or abuse may lead to account restrictions.

8. Rider Verification

All riders undergo:

  • Identity verification

  • Estate residency or access verification

  • Basic vehicle checks

  • Continuous ratings and performance monitoring

Jpool does not guarantee absolute rider safety but takes reasonable steps to ensure a secure environment.

9. Safety

Jpool includes several safety features such as:

  • Verified riders

  • Trip tracking

  • In-app chat

  • SOS/emergency button

However, users are responsible for personal safety and must exercise caution when entering vehicles or riding with others.

Jpool is not liable for accidents, injuries, or personal losses caused by users, riders, or external situations.

10. User Content

By using Jpool, you may submit content such as messages, ratings, or feedback.

You agree that:

  • Your content must be respectful and truthful

  • You may not post abusive, harmful, or illegal content

  • Jpool may use feedback to improve the platform

  • Jpool may remove content that violates these terms

11. Prohibited Activities

Users may not:

  • Use the Platform for illegal activities

  • Misuse the app or attempt to hack or disrupt it

  • Impersonate another person

  • Engage in harassment or discrimination

  • Provide false information

  • Attempt to bypass verification or payment systems

Violations may lead to suspension or legal action.

12. Estate Participation

Some features require confirmation from estate management.
Jpool may share necessary information with estate authorities for verification and safety purposes.

Transportation access may vary depending on estate rules.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Jpool is not liable for:

  • Accidents or injuries caused by riders or passengers

  • Lost or stolen personal items

  • Delays due to traffic or external factors

  • Technical issues or app downtime

  • User misconduct

Users accept rides at their own risk.

14. Platform Availability

Jpool may update, pause, or discontinue parts of the Platform for maintenance, security, or business reasons without prior notice.

15. Account Suspension or Termination

Jpool reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts for:

  • Fraud

  • Unsafe behavior

  • Violation of these Terms

  • Abuse of the Platform

  • Providing false information

Users may request account deletion at any time.

16. Privacy

Your use of Jpool is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how your data is collected and used.

17. Changes to These Terms

Jpool may update these Terms from time to time.
We will notify users of important changes.
Continued use of the Platform means you accept the updated Terms.
