Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 11 June 2026
Quick Summary
We know privacy policies can be long, so here is a simple overview of how J-Pool uses your information.
J-Pool collects basic details such as your name, contact information, account details and community membership information. We use this information to help you coordinate shared journeys, called Pools, within trusted communities.
Where needed, we may collect verification, location, payment and safety-related information to support trust, coordination, payments, emergency response and platform security.
We may share limited information with other Pool participants, Community Admins and trusted service providers only where necessary to operate the platform, provide support, process payments, improve safety, or meet legal requirements.
You remain in control of your personal data and can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or withdrawal of consent where applicable.
J-Pool is a community-based journey coordination platform. We do not operate transport services, employ drivers, own vehicles, or act as a taxi, private hire, bus, coach or transport operator.
Please read the full policy below for more detail.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how J-Pool, also known as Journey Pool, collects, uses, stores, shares and protects your personal information when you use our website, mobile application, community onboarding forms, admin dashboards, support channels and related services.
In this Privacy Policy, “J-Pool”, “we”, “our” or “us” refers to the J-Pool platform powered by Eykegai , unless otherwise stated in local onboarding, partnership or community documents.
J-Pool is designed to help people within trusted communities coordinate shared journeys. These communities may include workplaces, residential communities, universities, churches, faith-based groups, associations, estates, neighbourhoods and other organised groups.
We process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including where relevant:
UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018;
Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023;
Other applicable privacy, data protection, electronic communications and consumer protection laws.
This Privacy Policy applies to users in both the United Kingdom and Nigeria, unless a separate local privacy notice applies.
2. Key J-Pool Terms
To keep this policy consistent with the J-Pool platform, the following terms are used:
Pool means a shared journey coordinated through J-Pool. A Pool may include one Host and one or more Pals.
Host means the person who creates, publishes or organises a Pool.
Pal means a Pool Member who requests to join, joins, or books a seat in a Pool.
Community means a closed or organised group using J-Pool, such as a workplace, estate, university, church, faith-based group, association, neighbourhood or other trusted community.
Community Admin means an approved person or organisation representative who helps manage onboarding, verification, membership, community access or safety within a Community.
Platform means the J-Pool mobile app, website, admin tools, community onboarding forms, support channels and related services.
Where older app screens, test builds or support messages use words such as “trip”, “ride”, “driver” or “rider”, those words should be understood in line with J-Pool’s community Pool model. For example, “trip” means “Pool”, “Pool Creator” means “Host”, and “Pool Member” means “Pal”.
3. Who Controls Your Data
For the purposes of data protection law, Eykegai Limited, operating J-Pool, is the data controller for personal data collected directly through the J-Pool Platform.
In some cases, a Community, partner organisation or service provider may also act as an independent controller or processor depending on how they use personal data. For example, a Community organisation may provide or confirm membership information for onboarding or verification.
Where a third-party provider processes payments, maps, identity checks, hosting, analytics or messaging, that provider may process your data under its own privacy policy or under a data processing arrangement with J-Pool.
