This Participant Agreement (“Agreement”) governs your use of the J-Pool (The Journey Pool) platform.

J-Pool enables individuals within defined communities to coordinate and participate in shared journeys.

By registering, accessing, or using J-Pool, you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.

1. Jurisdiction & Applicability

J-Pool aims to operate across multiple regions. This Agreement applies globally; however, certain provisions may vary depending on your location.

• If you are using J-Pool in the United Kingdom, your use of the platform is subject to applicable UK laws and regulations
• If you are using J-Pool in Nigeria, your use of the platform is subject to applicable Nigerian laws and regulations

Where local laws differ, J-Pool will comply with the requirements of the applicable jurisdiction.

2. Eligibility

To use J-Pool, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Hold any required licences or documentation relevant to your participation
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

J-Pool reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that do not meet these requirements.

3. Nature of the Platform

J-Pool is a community-based coordination platform that enables individuals within trusted networks to organise shared journeys.

J-Pool:

• Does not own or operate vehicles
• Does not employ users
• Does not provide transport services

All arrangements are made directly between participants within their communities.

J-Pool is designed to support cost-sharing and coordination, not commercial transport activity.

4. Participant Responsibilities

Participants agree to:

• Act respectfully and responsibly within their community
• Honour agreed schedules and commitments
• Communicate clearly regarding timing and availability
• Maintain appropriate conduct at all times

J-Pool may restrict or remove access where behaviour affects trust, safety, or community integrity.

5. Vehicle & Compliance Requirements (Where Applicable)

Participants who use their vehicles within the platform must ensure that:

• Their vehicle is roadworthy and properly maintained
• They hold a valid driver’s licence
• They comply with all applicable local laws and regulations

Insurance

Participants must ensure they have appropriate insurance coverage as required in their jurisdiction.

J-Pool facilitates shared journeys within communities and does not operate as a commercial transport service.

• In the United Kingdom, participants must ensure their insurance permits shared use where cost contributions may occur
• In Nigeria, participants must maintain valid vehicle insurance in line with national requirements

Participants are solely responsible for ensuring compliance.

6. Verification & Safety

To maintain trust within communities, J-Pool may require identity verification.

This may include:

• Government-issued identification
• Community-based validation
• Additional checks depending on the use case
• In the UK, additional checks (such as DBS) may be required for certain environments
• In Nigeria, national identification will be required

Failure to complete verification may result in restricted access.

7. Cost Contributions

J-Pool enables participants to coordinate shared cost contributions for journeys.

• Contributions are intended to offset travel-related costs
• J-Pool may apply platform-related charges
• Payment processing may be handled by third-party providers

Cost structures may vary depending on region and community setup.

8. Reliability & Participation

Participants are expected to honour commitments once agreed.

Repeated cancellations, no-shows, or unreliable behaviour may result in:

• Warnings
• Temporary suspension
• Permanent removal from the platform

J-Pool prioritises consistency and reliability within communities.

9. Data Protection & Privacy

J-Pool processes personal data in accordance with applicable laws, including:

• UK GDPR and Data Protection Act (UK users)
• Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA)

Data is collected for:

• Account creation and verification
• Platform functionality and coordination
• Safety and compliance

10. Limitation of Liability

J-Pool provides a coordination platform and is not responsible for:

• The actions or conduct of participants
• Any incidents occurring during journeys
• Loss, damage, or personal injury

Use of the platform is at your own risk.

11. Account Suspension & Termination

J-Pool may suspend or terminate accounts where participants:

• Breach this Agreement
• Provide false information
• Engage in unsafe or inappropriate behaviour
• Violate applicable laws

12. Changes to This Agreement

J-Pool may update this Agreement from time to time.

Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of any updates.
